Smooth Nation to set standards in Mildenhall 545
A few of the contestants are not as familiar with 545-metre distance as Smooth Nation. The black dog was an impressive winner on his last outing over this distance.
Although he suffered a terrible defeat at Henlow last week, the bettors should not ignore his chances in the Mildenhall 545, to be held on Tuesday, September 11th.
Smooth Nation showed a lot of good performances at Mildenhall during last few months. The latest of his victories hit the headlines on August 21st, when he won an open race comprehensively.
After stepping out of the fourth trap, the dashing hound showed no mercy. His hard work paid off at the fifth bend, where he succeeded in getting a handsome lead. After getting into command, there was no stopping to M. Newberry?s trainee, who eventually seized the first rank by half a length.
After showing his magic on home soil, Smooth Nation went to Coventry in search of more glory. But things did not go to the plan, as he faced an awful loss at the end of last month. Another shameful trouncing became his fate last week, when he could only beat the back marker.
The experiment over 460 metres turned out to be a poor move, however, his connections can hope for a positive result over 545 metres.
Other runners in the race are: Hollys Bob, Airforce Tom, Blackrose Nelson, Blackrose Boss and Crinkill Magic. As per the schedule, the event will get underway at 21:00 GMT. The successful hound will leave the field with a cash prize worth ?150.
The draw is a plus for Blackrose Nelson. But the black and white cannot be trusted blindly, as he was at bottom of the table on his previous visit to this track. Hollys Bob showed solid form prior to his recent trouncing at Yarmouth. The loss would have dented his confidence to some extent.
Crinkill Magic does not face an easy task stepping up in trip. Airforce Tom has won a few and far between. His recent trials read well though. Blackrose Boss is expected to continue to find a few too good.
Both Hollys Bob and Airforce Tom have the guts, but it looks to be Smooth Nation?s race. Good luck to all the hounds.
